Cillian Murphy caricature

I recently took part in a caricature contest on the internet. The assignment was 'Cillian Murphy'. This was my entry. I created the base in Character Creator. This means that I picked out a realistic model and then used sliders to get as close as possible to what I had in mind. Hundreds of sliders! To drive you crazy! :-)
Then I imported the result into Blender, where I refined it through sculpting, cloth modeling, hair creating, framing, adjusting materials and lighting to the final result. And finally a little retouching in Krita.

Using the excellent free program PureRef, I constantly consulted good reference photos on my 2nd screen.

In Character Creator I created as close a likeness as possible through endless scrolling of hundreds of sliders. This is not as easy as one might think,
it requires a lot of concentration and patience ... but the program also gives a lot in return.

The rest was done in Blender. Refining with the sculpt tools what failed in CC4, grooming, lighting, framing, modeling clothes, ...

... but no more than necessary! Sorry for breaking the illusion :-) But there was a tight deadline, the caricature had to be finished in a few days...

And I finished just in time! :-)

Afterwards I touched up the hair at his temple a bit in Krita. Finished! Time for something new...
